Welcome to the blog of Shantell Wyatt Photography! This is where you can find sneek peaks, recent session showcases, current specials, and view products.

I'll also be blogging about my life, which is full of fun, rarely a dull moment! I am known as mommy to a charismatic 6 yr old girl, and a rambunctious and bull-headed 3 yr old boy. My husband supports me in all my endeavors and I thank him for that, this dream would not be possible without his positive attitude!

I specialize in a more candid approach to photography, my style can be seen both here and on my website. Please feel free to browse around; bookmark my site, I truly hope my blog becomes a favorite of yours. I hope that you enjoy my work as much as I do, and I welcome you to check back often and watch the kids grow!
Memories all too often fade....remember the best ones.

:: New studio location for Shantell Wyatt Photography :: {Dallas/Fort Worth Photographer Shantell Wyatt}

There it is, my big news! I have had an amazing opportunity come up and I will now have my own studio location! I have teamed up with Ladybugs Children's Boutique in Mansfield. We're in the process of getting all set up now, but come on down to Ladybugs and check it out!

Here is the wall color before.... not bad, but not great to photograph in.

Here's Josh taking apart the nifty contraption that was already there.

Josh (who despises painting) and I painted it a a neutral beige,

it goes awesome with the floors!

Be on the lookout for more updates and progress pictures as we get it finished up! : )

all in the family {dallas/fortworth photographer shantell wyatt}

These two kiddos are family, so I'm biased as to how adorable they are......but man are they cute! Meet Miss K and Mr E

I love this shot of Miss K, a rare quiet moment on our outing that day.

Having a little wide angle fun with Mr E, look at those eyes, his mom's going to have a hard time keeping the girls away!

And, some more wide angle fun with Miss K, she's got the same eyes, gorgeous!

And one of many funny moments between brother and sister, I love the way Miss K is looking at her brother....so sweet. I had fun guys.......ANYTIME!

this girl...{dallas/fort worth child photographer shantell wyatt}

Happy Birthday Abby!

Nobody can ever believe how fast time flies, put me on the list. I can vividly remember the first time I felt Abby move in my belly, I can remember the first time she kicked so hard it atually hurt, and most of all, I remember the first time I met this little girl. I felt like I had known her my whole life, seconds after laying eyes one her.

Abby, I wish you all the happiness & joy your heart can hold. I look forward to watching you grow, but secretely & selfishly wish I could stop time & keep you and your brother as you are today, my little angels that will forever look to me for positive nods of approval as you do the simplest of things, like brush your teeth, or pull your shirt over your head. You have done nothing but make me proud, proud of you and proud to say I'm your mother, and for that I thank you. Thank you for being you, and making me who I am today. Thank you for showing me how much there is to life. I love you little girl!
Here's mom, pulling a sneak attach on Abby's lollipop!

iiiiiiiiiiii.........wanna soak up the sun {dallas/ fort worth child photographer shantell wyatt}

We have had a blast outside so far this summer. The slip-n-slide is probably our fave,
but a close second is water balloons in the pool!
Seeing these smiles brings me 100% happiness. This is really what it's all about.

A week full of new things!

I have been wanting a fish tank for a long time now, & I finally got one & set it up last weekend. I also upgraded my camera & when it came the kids wouldn't let me play, but the fish & frogs seemed willing!
**The below pictures were blogged by the request of my good friend Megan who just loves frogs**

Here are , my guppies, platys & tetras.

I love these guys, they are so much fun to watch!

Now if I could just get the kids to cooperate long enough to use my new camera on them!

Still Friends

As the season is changing, I am constantly reminded of the absence of my very good friend Nancy. Wednesday March 27th marked 6 months since her tragic & unexpected death. Not a day goes by that I don't think of her & her girls. As we all know good friends are hard to come by, & I've felt a little lost without her. I wonder if I've changed since her death & if she is with me, knows me & is still my friend. I believe she is. I talk to her & look forward to when I can see Nancy again, & catch up on things, as if she's just away for awhile.

Just a short year ago, my husband Josh, me, Nancy & her husband Bryan took an awesome weekend trip to Galveston. We left the kids & worries behind, and had a blast! Here's me & Nancy from the trip.

I put together a slideshow for Nancy's funeral & got to keep a copy of all the pictures. This is by far my most favorite of all of them. This is who Nancy was, she took time to be with her kids, they were everything to her. She treated my kids as if they were her own. Abby, who's 5 colored her a picture that we took to her grave, Caleb who is 2, still calls her name when he sees a car like hers. When we mentioned going to her grave, he got excited thinking we were going to her house to see her. Bless their hearts :)

This picture brings tears to my eyes everytime I see it. I think all moms have similar pictures with their children, just being together.

Nancy passed away from complications of a stroke. The most health conscience person I knew, always in her running shoes from a several mile jog (with the family) or on her way to the gym where we all worked out together. I have learned a thing or two about the signs of a stroke.

Please see here for signs of a stroke, and information about what to do if you think you or someone around you may be having a stroke.

Thanks for letting me share a good memory from a great friend. I'll be back to blog about something a little more cheery soon :)

what's in a name? {Dallas/Fort Woth Photographer Shantell Wyatt}

One of my best friends in the world gave me the honor of photographing the birth of her second baby girl. It was an awesome experience to say the least. Here she is just 6 weeks later. This special little girl has an awesome middle name. She was named after her Uncly Jay. When you ask her sister where Uncle Jay is, or her cousin Jailynn where daddy is, they both answer "In Heben" As soon as she starts talking she'll say the same thing, maybe even be telling us about herUncle Jay, afterall he got to know Halle before any of us did.
Here is big sister, the eyes on this girl are amazing!

my bro {Dallas/Fort Worth Photographer Shantell Wyatt}

This is my little bro, well not so little anymore, he towers over me & our mom for sure! He will be graduating in May, these are some of his senior pictures. We had fun, but it was pretty cold out there. I'm so proud of my brother and can't wait to see him walk the stage! Here are some of my favorites :)

happy valentine's day! {Dalals/Fort Worth Photographer Shantell Wyatt}

My sweet Josh was out of town on Valentine's Day, but he surprised me by having 30 beautiful Tulips delivered, I'm not great at flower photography, but these are gorgeous!
Thanks Hunny!

bottle baby? {Dallas/Forth Worth Photographer Shantell Wyatt}

Mom are you talking about me?

My son Caleb, is now 2.5 years old. Although Caleb was exclusively nursed, meaning this child *never* took a bottle, Caleb decided that the sippy of milk I gave him with his oatmeal, was not good enough. That's when he began to whine for a bottle, yes Caleb who has never used a bottle wanted, no *needed* a bottle of milk with his breakfast. It was cute really, here he is with his bottle. I tried to scoot the bottle closer to me for a picture, he didn't love that......they're only young once, right?
